זוכרים את תקווה גדעון? הדיירת פורצת הדרך שזכתה בעונה העשירית של "האח הגדול", עבדה בטרם הגיעה אל הריאליטי במסעדה בחולון, שם לדבריה היא ספגה פעם אחרר פעם השפלות על רקע גזעני. גדעון התארחה בפודקסט "מתוך השבר" של צחי אליהו ודיברה על הימים בהם זכתה ליחס נוראי מלקוחות.
גדעון חשפה בין היתר: "ראיתי שכל כך הרבה אנשים עדים לחוסר צדק וכולם היו בשקט, אף אחד לא התערב. בחיים שלי לא הרגשתי מושפלת ברמה הזאת. היא הצליחה באמת לפרק לי את הנשמה. יותר ממה שהיא עשתה, מהשקט מסביב, מהלגיטימציה. כאילו, אתם מסכימים?".

לדבריה: "אף אחד לא התערב. חקרתי את זה המון עם עצמי. אני חושבת שלרוב אנשים שהם באמת טובים, גם אם הם לא מסכימים, הם נורא מפחדים להשמיע קול. הרבה פעמים כשאתה עד לזה זה יכול לזעזע אותך וללוות אותך אחרי אבל באותו רגע, אבל הרבה פעמים אנשים משתתקים''.
היא המשיכה וסיפרה כי: ''הם לא יודעים איך להגיב לזה. היה שקט כזה. אני רואה את הצוות והם מזועזעים. הייתי איזושהי דמות בשבילם, והכל נשבר. היא שברה את הצלחת אבל היא גם שברה אותי". לטענתה המשפטים מחרידים ששמעה באותו ערב היו "אתיופית מסריחה" ו"מי נתן לכושית לנהל מסעדה''.
