גדעון סער נגד בן גביר: "הליך הדחה דה לה שמעטע - מופע מביש"

על רקע סערת בן גביר וקובי שבתאי, גדעון סער תוקף את השר לביטחון לאומי ברשת החברתית X. גדעון סער: "לבזות אותו חודש וחצי לפני תום שירותו בהליך הדחה דה-לה-שמעטע פוגע לא רק בו, אלא גם בערך של שירות הציבור"

סערת בן גביר וקובי שבתאי, אשר עוררה הדים רבים וגררה את תגובותיהם של מעט בכירים בכנסת, העסיקה בין היתר את גדעון סער, יו"ר מפלגת הימין הממלכתי, אשר פרסם מוקדם יותר היום (שלישי) ברשת החברתית X. 
"קובי שבתאי הוא פטריוט ישראלי ששרת במדים את המדינה וביטחונה במשך עשרות שנים. לתפקיד המפכ״ל הוא מונה ביוזמת שר מהליכוד והשר הנוכחי הביא לממשלה את הארכת כהונתו".
סער, שהתייחס לרצונו של בן גביר לקיים שימוע לפני פיטורין עבור המפכ"ל, המשיך לתקוף את השר לביטחון לאומי: "לבזות אותו חודש וחצי לפני תום שירותו בהליך הדחה דה-לה-שמעטע פוגע לא רק בו, אלא גם בערך של שירות הציבור. האמריקנים אומרים: Thank you for your service. כבוד בסיסי לאדם ולשירות כדרך-חיים". 
בסוף דבריו, יו"ר מפלגת הימין הממלכתי מתח ביקורת חריפה על ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו וכתב: "אם הייתה מנהיגות בישראל היא הייתה מתנערת מהמופע המביש הזה ומגנה אותו. אבל אין, כי 'בימים ההם אין מלך בישראל איש הישר בעיניו יעשה'".
כאמור, מוקדם יותר היום (שלישי) החליט בן גביר לבטל את השימוע לפני פיטורין שהוא תכנן לקיים מחר למפכ"ל המשטרה רב ניצב יעקב בשבתאי. על אף זאת, בן גביר ציין כי הוא יביא לממשלה הצעת החלטה שתקבע את סיום כהונת שבתאי, זאת בשל דו"ח ועדת החקירה לאסון מירון אשר ייחס לו שורת כשלים ואחריות אישית.
