התאחדות האדריכלים ובוני ערים הכריזו על מינויה של אסנת גנץ לתפקיד מנכ"לית הארגון אשר מייצג את האדריכלים בישראל. אסנת היא בעלת ניסיון רב בניהול וקידום ארגונים דומים. בתפקידה הקודם שימשה כמנכ"לית פורום ראשי החברות וכמנכ"לית משותפת של פורום CFO בהם חברים מנכ״לים וסמנכ״לי כספים של החברות המובילות במשק. לפני כן שימשה כסמנכ״לית חברת התערוכות והכנסים במרכז הבנייה הישראלי וכמנהלת מחלקת הכנסים של קבוצת הארץ.
לדבריה, התאחדות האדריכלים ובוני ערים מספקת שירותים מקצועיים לכלל האדריכלים הפעילים בישראל, כ-5,000 במספר, גם לאדריכלים והמתכננים העצמאיים וגם לאדריכלים שמועסקים ברשויות המקומיות ובחברות הממשלתיות. בנוסף לכך פועלת ההתאחדות באמצעות האדריכלים המתנדבים בה ובמסגרת הוועדות השונות, לשיפור איכות התכנון בישראל, לשיפור החקיקה והרגולציה על מנת לשפר וליעל את הליכי התכנון הבנייה והרישוי, ולשיפור מעמדם של האדריכלים.
 
אסנת גנץ התייחסה למינוי ואמרה: "המטרה שלי היא להגדיל באופן משמעותי את מספר החברים בארגון ואת מספרם של החברים הפעילים והמתנדבים ולהגדיל את השירותים שההתאחדות מספקת לאדריכלים ולציבור הרחב".
