בן גביר מחולל סערה: "אני הדרג המדיני, והדרג המדיני מתיר"

השר איתמר בן גביר אמר במהלך כנס במשכן הכנסת בנושא הר הבית "אני הדרג המדיני ואני מתיר תפילת יהודים בהר הבית", וממשיך בקו שיקשה על התנהלותוו של רה''מ נתניהו בביקורו בארה''ב

לאחר דרישת השר איתמר בן גביר מראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו להיכנס ל'פורום בטחוני מצומצם' שידון בעקרונות ואסטרטגיות הנוגעות ללחימה, ולאחר משיכת הזמן של נתניהו בנושא ודחיית חוק המועצות הדתיות לשבוע הבא, וכן הטלת וטו מצד דרעי על כניסת בן גביר לפורום. בחר בן גביר להתבטא באמירה חריפה.
במהלך כנס שיזמה מפלגת עוצמה יהודית בכנסת, העוסק בנושא הר הבית, אמר השר בן גביר: "השבוע הייתי בהר הבית והתפללתי" והוסיף "אני הדרג המדיני ואני מתיר תפילת יהודים בהר הבית". 
אמירה זו של השר בן גביר באה על רקע דחיית נתניהו את בקשתו להיכנס לפורום הבטחוני, ונראה כי השר מנסה בכל דרך להקשות על רה''מ נתניהו בעת ביקורו בארה''ב. זאת בזמן שגם האופוזיציה, שנראה כי מבינה את הצורך השעתי, שומרת על איפוק יחסי מול נתניהו.
בנוסף, הגיב השר בן גביר על הוטו של דרעי כנגד כניסתו לפורום הבטחוני, ופרסם בחשבון ה-X שלו ״חבל שבאוסלו הוא לא שם וטו״. וטו זה של יו''ר ש''ס, מצביע על חשיבות העניין, שכן דרעי מוכן במחיר זה לוותר גם 'חוק הרבנים המרוכך'.
