בבנק אוף אמריקה אומרים במייל ששלחו למשקיעים כי למרות הדברים של ג'רום פאוול, יו"ר הפדרל ריזרב, השבוע, עדיין המשקיעים מתמחרים גל הורדות של ריבית השנה. הפדרל ריזרב, נזכיר, הותיר מאת הריבית  ללא שינוי השבוע כשבמקביל קיבלו  דבריו של פאוול פרשנות לפיה הסבירות להורדת ריבית בחודש מרץ הקרוב - נמוכה.
אם כן, לפני הודעת הפדרל ריזרב תימחרו השווקים סבירות של 50% להורדת ריבית בחודש מרץ הקרוב כשלאחר ההודעה ירדו הסיכויים האלה אל מתחת לרמה של 50%. 

בתגובה להודעה של הפד עלו תשואות האג"ח הממשלתי האמריקאי מרמה של 3.8% לרמה של קצת יותר מ-4% וזהו למעשה תיקון מתבקש. בבנק אוף אמריקה כותבים כי למרות עליית התשואות הזו של היומיים האחרונים, עדיין תשואות האג"ח מתמחרות ריבית נמוכה יותר ממה שהובן מדברי פאוול.
כדי לעמוד בפער שבין הציפיות להורדת ריבית הרי שהפדרל ריזרב צריך להוריד את הריבית בארה"ב 6 פעמים השנה, כותבים בבנק אוף אמריקה וזו תחזית שאפתנית מאוד אבל לא בלתי אפשרית כשאנחנו  לוקחים בחשבון את שנת הבחירות והלחצים בהם נמצאת הכלכלה העולמית.
