הפתעה באסלה: הלכה להתפנות וגילתה בעל חיים לא רצוי

צעירה מארה"ב שמיהרה להתפנות בשירותים בביתה חשה לא בנוח וגילתה לפתע נחש אגרסיבי בתוך האסלה. אף שהוא לא ארסי, ללוכד הנחשים לקח יומיים להוציא אותו משם

צעירה מאריזונה בארה"ב הלכה להתפנות במהרה בביתה ברגע שחזרה מטיול ארוך. לצערה היא לא הספיקה להקל על עצמה יותר מדי "תודות" לאורח בלתי רצוי שחיכה לה באסלה. מישל לספרון גילתה באסלה בשירותים נחש אגרסבי, אך לא ארסי, מסוג זעמן השוט.
הצעירה כמובן נבהלה מאוד והזמינה לביתה לוכד נחשים שגם נאבק לא מעט עם האורח, והצליח לפנות אותו מהדירה רק לאחר כיומיים. מומחה לנחשים שהתראיין לג'אם פרס העיד כי מדובר בנחש חכם מאוד שאפילו אוכל נחשים. אף שהתיעוד של האירוע הפך לוויראלי, מיותר לציין שמדובר בתופעה די מוכרת בארצות רבות, בהן אוסטרליה וכמובן ישראל.
רק לפני כחודש דווח כי ילד בן שבע בלבד בחיפה הוכש על ידי נחש צבע שהסתתר בחדרו. אף שההורים לא חשדו שמדובר בהכשה, צוות בית החולים זיהה תסמינים דומים להכשה ארסית ונאלץ לאשפז אותו ליותר מיממה  בטיפול נמרץ. 
 
על פי נתוני המרכז הארצי למידע בהרעלות שברמב"ם, בין החודשים ינואר ויולי, טופלו במרכז 35 פניות הנוגעות להכשות נחש. הצפי הוא כי עם עליית הטמפרטורות והתחממות מזג האוויר, כבכל שנה, מספר המקרים הללו ילך ויגדל.
