שיא נדבקים בקורונה בסין: למעלה ממיליארד - 80% מהאוכלוסייה

הקורונה שוברת שיאי הדבקות בסין, ולפי נתונים שפורסמו לפחות 80% מהאוכלוסיה כבר נדבקה, וכ-60,000 מתו החודש. בעקבות הסרת ההגבלות מצד הממשלה והחגים בסין, חשש להחמרת המצב

הקורונה מכה בעוצמה בסין בשבועות האחרונים, ועל פי נתונים שמסר האפידימיולוג הראשי במרכז לבקרת מחלות ומניעתן במדינה, כ-80% מהאוכלוסייה כבר נדבקה בנגיף, שהם קצת למעלה ממיליארד איש.
יחד עם זאת, מומחים במדינה טוענים שהנתון הזה כנראה נמוך מהתמונה האמיתית, מכיוון שהוא לא כולל את אלה שמתים בבית, ומכיוון שרופאים רבים אמרו שהם מיואשים מלציין את הקורונה כגורם למוות.
האפידמיולוג וו זוניו אמר כי בשל שיעור הנדבקים המאוד גבוה, הסיכוי להתפרצות מחודשת של נגיף הקורונה במדינה בחודשים הקרובים נמוך מאוד.

לדברי גורם בוועדת הבריאות הלאומית של סין, כבר נחצה השיא של חולי קורונה המגיעים למרפאות, חדרי מיון ומאושפזים במצב קריטי. כמעט 60,000 אנשים מתו מקורונה בבתי החולים החל מה-12 בינואר, כחודש לאחר שסין הסירה בפתאומיות את מדיניות ה"אפס הדבקות" שלה, והקלה משמעותית את הגבלות הקורונה, על פי נתוני הממשלה.
חברת Airfinity הבריטית העריכה לא מכבר ש-9,000 סינים מתים ביממה מקורונה, ושהחל מ-23 בינואר ימותו כתוצאה מהנגיף כ-25 אלף בני אדם ביום. 
מה שהחמיר את גל ההדבקות בסין היתה התנועה ההמונית של אנשים במהלך תקופת החגים הממושכת של ראש השנה הירחי. מאות מיליוני סינים נוסעים ברחבי המדינה למפגשי חגים לאחר הסרת המגבלות, מה שמעלה את החשש להתפרצויות חדשות באזורים כפריים שפחות ערוכים  להתמודד עם המגיפה.
